I accept Anthem~Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance at this time.
Insurance coverage varies from company to company. Contact your insurance provider to learn what kind of care is covered. Many times it's easier to be provided with a "superbill" that you submit to your insurance company. And if they accept it, they will reimburse you for your treatments. If you have a "flex plan" or a "health savings account", you should be able to pay through those accounts. For some services, like smoking cessation, employers are often willing to provide financial assistance.
I accept all major credit cards, cash and checks.

The number of treatments will vary from person to person, depending on what your are working on. Some people experience immediate relief while others may take months to achieve results. Chronic conditions usually take longer to resolve than acute ones. Plan on a minimum of one month of weekly treatments to see significant changes. There is also a difference in care, from relief to corrective, to maintenance, that will determine the longevity of working on physical conditions.
Studies show that it takes 21-28 days for your brain to create a new groove, or neural network for change to take place. If you are working on breaking a mental habit or thought pattern, expect to have weekly treatments for a month. Jennifer will evaluate progress to see if more treatments will be needed to obtain your goal.
She also recommends monthly visits for health maintenance or seasonal "tune ups" depending on your condition.
At the core of this ancient medicine is the philosophy that Qi (pronounced "chee") is Life Energy. Depending on your perspective, the terminology can vary. Simply put, it is the same Essence that directs your body to heal itself after being wounded. You do not have to tell your body consciously to scab over and heal, it just happens naturally. Acupuncture taps into this same Essence.
Qi circulates through the blood, along the blood vessels. There are 14 main channels or vessels throughout the body. Each is connected to specific organs and glands. The vessels are like rivers. Where a river flows, it transports life-giving water that nourishes the land, plants and people. In the same way, our vessels transport life-giving Qi & Blood to nourish and energize every cell, organ, gland, tissue and muscle.
When Qi and Blood flows freely throughout the body, one enjoys good physical, mental and emotional well-being. An obstruction of Qi anywhere in the body is like a dam, backing up the flow in one area and restricting it in others. This blockage can hinder the distribution of the nourishment that the body requires to function optimally.
Many things influence the quality, quantity and balance of Qi and Blood. Physical and emotional trauma, stress, lack of exercise, overexertion, seasonal changes, diet, accidents, environmental toxins or excessive activity can lead to a blockage or imbalance of Qi and Blood.
Normally, when this imbalance occurs, the body naturally bounces back, returning to a balanced state of health and well-being. When the disruption of Qi and/or Blood is prolonged or excessive, or if the body is in a weakened state, then illness, pain or disease can set in.

Yes! Children actually respond more quickly than adults, because their blood flow isn't compromised much yet. If your child has an aversion to needles, there are safe alternatives such as massage, acupressure acupuncture points or the use of an electric point stimulator.
Acupuncture needles are referred to as a "Chinese hair" because the needles are the circumference of a human hair. Jennifer uses a gentle technique, so the treatments are usually painless. After the needle is inserted, you may notice a sensation of tingling, heaviness or the sensation of movement of energy along the body. This experience is referred to as a "qi response". Patients often report feeling relaxed and more grounded after treatments.
How safe is acupuncture?
Fiery Sage Healing uses single use sterilized disposable needles, so there is virtually no chance of contamination. OSHA (Occupational Safety Health Administration) monitors the practice of acupuncture throughout the United States, as regulated by the federal government. Acupuncture is a safe procedure when treatments are administered by a licensed professional who is board certified by the National Commission for Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
Fiery Sage Healing was created with the idea of balance in mind. Like the yin and the yang, duality exists as an imperative part of life. Without knowing sadness, one would not know joy. Fire is hot, passionate, and has the ability to destroy yet create anew. Sage represents wisdom and is used for purification and cleansing.
Jennifer perceives each client on all levels- physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. She believes the deepest form of healing takes place when a holistic perspective is incorporated.
Treatments are tailored to each client, and many times acupuncture and hypnosis are used in conjunction with one another for the most effective results. She honors each individuals journey and is always open to patient feedback.
